Avatar Lite iPhone App
First Glimpse
The game opens to four options that will lead you to different software features. The Jungle button tops the list and provides gateway into Avatar’s first journey. It will first take you to a short clip of an all-new Avatar story. There is a skip option which allows you to leave the short clip and move on to the game.
The Sliding mode is a quick play that offers a bit of excitement. The Options tab allows you to change several settings in the game. You can alter the sound, music, and language of the software. Currently, the game is available in six different languages.
Lastly, there is a “Buy Full Version” option that lets you purchase and download the app conveniently.
Closer Look at the Gameplay
Generally, the app is very is easy to use and navigate. The buttons and joystick are all maneuvered by the touch of your fingers. There is a “pause” button that allows you to momentarily stop and start a game. There are also virtual keys for jumping and firing attacks. The Objective Icon reveals the right path and directs you to achieve the game’s goals.
The Jungle game is mostly spent running and exploring deep within the forest walls. The mission is to find 8 Unobtanium deposits inside the jungle. As you roam around the wooded area, you’ll encounter carnivorous plants and wild beasts. Shoot by holding or tapping the weapon icon. The latter is replaced with a hand button so the lead character – Ryan – can interact with the objects surrounding him. As you move closer to enemies, the weapon icon automatically allows the character to fight through his staff.
Unfortunately, the Lite version only offers the first chapter of the game. You have to purchase the Full version to finish all 15 levels of the Avatar iPhone app.
The Sliding game, which is a quick play involving only duck and jump buttons, is also limited to first chapter.
The Verdict
The Avatar iPhone app is like any other movie-game. It’s a fairly-made software that offers to bring fun, excitement, and a whole new journey to Avatar’s world.
The graphics and navigability of the software are commendable. However, there are lag issues that need to be addressed to. The game also gets monotonous after several minutes of playing. Overall, the Lite version of Avatar iPhone app is worth its free price.
